Kwatez Fables

Here's another update. I actually wasn't awake when this happened, but I'll take Flor's word for it. She apparently claims that I talk in my sleep when I'm stressed about science. How she witnessed this I'm not going to question. She can be creepy all she wants. So enjoy.

P.S. The bats that are hanging in one of the panels actually did happen. Flor had an army of male bats that hung from the ceiling.

Birth of Pyro Part 2

Here is part 2 of the Birth of Pyro.  It is quite sad that it took me this long to complete it.  Nevertheless, it is done and in full color.  Woohoo. I am proud to say that Pyro will be the only pinata of mine that has been thrown off the 3rd floor balcony of Griffiths.  However, I think the evil blue bunny that I created the year after was pretty indestructible.  According to a physics friend, the pinata had been built so that it focused all the pressure into one point so no matter how you hit the thing, it would only dent and never break.  Genius.

Birth of Pyro Part 1

Sorry for the long hiatus and pseudo-hiatuses everyone.  I can't believe it's been 5 months since I've last posted.   My excuse... (looking at my dwindling list of excuses) school.   I feel that these so called "comic strips" are slowly turning into a vignette-like comic.  So if it's missing a punch-line, just laugh at the silliness.  If you can't find anything funny, well... find something funny.  Anyways, this strip is from my freshman year around Cinco de Mayo time.  It was just coincidental that Flor and I decided to build a piƱata (an indestructible one at that) and Cinco de Mayo was around the corner. Currently, I'm trying to recall what happened during this process of building [part 1] and destroying [part 2], but I guess old age is getting to me.  Sigh.  Anyway, enjoy.  I will try to recall what happened last year except it seems like a blur.  Oh well, here's part 1.

What day of the week is Ash Wednesday?

Hooray, first post of the new year except that it's already February. So I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately...enough that the head throbs from time to time. However, I have decided to take breaks because according to a very informative (reliable?) article, it stated the findings of a study on the consequences of medical students' stress levels. I'm sure this is applicable to all people. But apparently, studies showed that when the brain is put into stressful situations, your ability to do simple tasks, attention span, and motor skills pretty much go kaput. Vegetablism here I come. Hence, humanities majors are probably the happiest people on a college campus (not that I'm saying that their majors are easy). Sometimes I envy people that do not have 4 hour lab sections. But kaboom is always a plus, but I have yet to witness one (the closest one I saw was color changing chemicals).

Maybe it's from the lack of sleep (the screen is blurring as I type) or maybe it's things getting lost in translation lately or maybe it's life in general. Anyways, I've realized that I have somewhat run out of ideas from my freshman year. I'm sure that there are many things that happened that year. (Points finger at you-don't judge, I'm not a hermit). Plus, I'm guessing you're a bit curious about what I've been up to this year. Well, according to the title, it's not a trick question. This comic/event happened quite recently. Sadly, we cannot keep track of time. Sigh. Oh well. Enjoy.

I have tourettes?

Did the title catch your attention? Sorry, I'm not that clever. The winter holiday is draining out my creativeness (not that school doesn't do that on its own already). So this event happened a while ago (I think sometime Spring semester). In my defense, go listen to the Kaiser Chiefs. If you're not listening carefully when they sing the chorus, I'm sure you'll hear "tourettes" too. Most people don't understand how I exchanged "I predict" for "I have". I guess my brain automatically tries to make things make sense. Same thing happens when I'm reading. Speed testing is not advisable. That's where dyslexia comes in. [Shivers-ew tests]. I'm pretty sure you have misheard something and was pretty confused afterwards. For me, this is a daily thing except most of the time my roommate does spout nonsense so it's not my fault.

At this point, I'm not sure how many comics I have left from my freshman year. What can I say? I live a predictable life except I'm surrounded by unpredictable people. So would that make my life unpredictable too because of these people? Pseudo-philosophy. Ahh. I will try to think really hard of what happened my freshman year, but if I run out of events, I'll fill you in on this year. Hehe. Last semester was eventful. I think. Hope you enjoy these comics. Thanks for reading them.

Symbol

So I am back at home away from the cold and rain. Not. The cold and rain followed me home except they transformed into colder and rainier. Well, Winter Break has officially begun four days ago for me and my semi-horrendous semester is now over. Maybe horrendous was a bit strong. It was tolerable. Good points and bad points.

Anyways, I remember writing somewhere some time ago about a need for me to have a symbol. It hit me about a couple minutes ago. Some random feather that I created out of boredom during some lecture and it stuck. I guess a feather is versatile in the case that it can be used for writing/drawing/doodling or it can be used or decoration or it can be placed at the end of an arrow for guidance or ... you get the point. Sorry for not having a poll to decide. I thought it would be better if I started creating more comics.

Tiffany

So I realized that I didn't put up a profile of me. I'm sorry I couldn't finish my profile only because I couldn't think of a symbol for me. Though I will still be thinking about possible symbol choices, I would like suggestions. Maybe this could lead to an online voting thing. Who knows? The possibilities are endless like time (except here at Berkeley where time seems to be in high demand along with sleep).

What can I tell you about myself?

I really like the beach + sitting on the sand and watching the waves + building sand castles+ boogie boarding + just walking along the shore + seashells + dolphins, . . . etc. Ahh! That's starting to look like a math equation. The sad part is I only go to the beach once a year, and it's not that I live far away or the water is freezing cold (another reference to Berkeley). Sigh.

I am easily entertained. I'm pretty sure that if I was left alone on the island, I could probably entertain myself or make something. But if I was left on a plot of sand with no palm trees whatsoever, I would be pretty sad. I know that my college experience would have been very different had I not met these people (the previous profiles). They bring interesting moments into my lives and continue to do so. (scary I know)

As for this comic strip, sorry about the hiatus. Here are some life lessons I have learned thus far:

1. Never carry 19 units in one semester.

2. Sleep is my greatest friend. I miss you Sleep. :(

3. Midterms suck. Actually tests in general suck (especially those at night).

I will soon post up a list of possible symbols for me. Please feel free to comment and offer suggestions.
