Psych(ic) [preview]

Recently, I've started to watch Psych, a comedy-drama detective show that subtly emphasizes that many people will believe whatever you tell them if you are really vague and can correctly guess a few facts about their lives.  So from this show, Flor decided that she is psychic.  Not a deceiving quick puzzle-solver like Shawn, but an authentic psychic.  She has been trying to convince me since the start of last semester, but I'm not convinced.  That's right. You are NOT psychic, Flor.

As for the drawing above, let's superimpose Psych onto our lives, Flor and mine.  She would be Shawna, the "psychic" one, while I would be Gusette, the straightforward, law-abiding citizen. Though we aren't childhood friends like the characters, and though Flor wasn't thrown into a trunk by her father for survival training, and though we don't solve crimes, I feel like we can relate to Shawn and Gus.  For example, what we bicker about is absolutely ridiculous and does not make sense half the time.  However, our bickering has yet to reach the ultimate end: a fight to the death.  So yes, the origin of Psych(ic) might be portrayed in a later comic for further explanations. And if anyone asks, Flor is NOT psychic.  Don't let her convince you otherwise.

The Revenge of the Past

Happy New Year!  This is the first new comic update for 2010.  Before you go questioning our sanity (just question my roommate's sanity), these conversations concerning the remnants of the ancient civilizations overlapping into the present day have been happening since sophomore year.  However, this year, Flor has expanded her "god/pharaoh/ruler" powers and dubbed me as her scapegoat.  At first I thought her hovering 5 feet above me in her lofted bed, threatening to smite me from across the room was bad, she now has improvised this year by claiming she still has god-like powers even in the mortal realm.  The best thing to do is to avoid being smited and deny the fact that she's psychic.  That's right, Flor.  You are NOT psychic [explanation will follow in an upcoming comic].  So enjoy.

Tetris Complications

Hooray, back in Berkeley starting my 3rd year.  No hooray for waitlisted classes. This comic above happened quite recently, actually yesterday.  Sadly, technology got the best of me...again.  Wouldn't you have a small panic attack if your computer screen died right in front of your eyes?  Thankfully, it was only a game of Tetris, but what if it was a report or my perfectly drafted will?  Good ideas don't come by very often, and technology has a cruel sense of humor.  I think this particular, pathetic incident has once again tied the score.

Technology-1: Me-1

Never fear, 'tis only a fluke.  So enjoy.

Kwatez Fables

Here's another update. I actually wasn't awake when this happened, but I'll take Flor's word for it. She apparently claims that I talk in my sleep when I'm stressed about science. How she witnessed this I'm not going to question. She can be creepy all she wants. So enjoy.

P.S. The bats that are hanging in one of the panels actually did happen. Flor had an army of male bats that hung from the ceiling.

Birth of Pyro Part 2

Here is part 2 of the Birth of Pyro.  It is quite sad that it took me this long to complete it.  Nevertheless, it is done and in full color.  Woohoo. I am proud to say that Pyro will be the only pinata of mine that has been thrown off the 3rd floor balcony of Griffiths.  However, I think the evil blue bunny that I created the year after was pretty indestructible.  According to a physics friend, the pinata had been built so that it focused all the pressure into one point so no matter how you hit the thing, it would only dent and never break.  Genius.

Birth of Pyro Part 1

Sorry for the long hiatus and pseudo-hiatuses everyone.  I can't believe it's been 5 months since I've last posted.   My excuse... (looking at my dwindling list of excuses) school.   I feel that these so called "comic strips" are slowly turning into a vignette-like comic.  So if it's missing a punch-line, just laugh at the silliness.  If you can't find anything funny, well... find something funny.  Anyways, this strip is from my freshman year around Cinco de Mayo time.  It was just coincidental that Flor and I decided to build a piƱata (an indestructible one at that) and Cinco de Mayo was around the corner. Currently, I'm trying to recall what happened during this process of building [part 1] and destroying [part 2], but I guess old age is getting to me.  Sigh.  Anyway, enjoy.  I will try to recall what happened last year except it seems like a blur.  Oh well, here's part 1.
